“One week after I came here, something horrible happened in this country. The Twin Towers was destroyed. I was afraid that something could happen to me, and my family in Peru was worried. Time passed and I started working, adapting to this country, and doing a lot of things. Knowing the streets. After four years, my son in Peru got an envelope from the U.S. embassy telling him that he would have an interview. I remember being on my bed, and feeling that it was like a cloud in heaven. He went to his interview and they accepted him. Oh my god, it was just paradise. I brought him to the U.S. for his future. And this is one of my goals that I have made come true.”
