What is I AM THIS LAND?
In December 2010, Breakthrough put out a call for fun, inspiring videos about diversity for our first annual I AM THIS LAND contest. Of all the amazing videos we received, the winner was Role Call, created by a class at Flushing International High School in New York City. The school is an incredible community of recent immigrants from 40 countries — all with so many stories to tell and so many ways to tell them. Now, we’ve partnered with Flushing International High School for a creative story writing project with the students’ personal stories and interviews about what “I AM THIS LAND” and life in America mean to them.
